A tight‑frontage renovation turns a once‑sealed row house into an airy courtyard‑home, sliding bamboo‑screened doors that blur living room and back garden while keeping the budget and carbon, light.


Our first step was to create a sense of openness by integrating the courtyard into the living space. This involved breaking down walls to create a back courtyard, allowing the living area to seamlessly extend into the outdoor space with natural light and ventilation.

To achieve this, we fabricated expandable doors. The option of covering them is possible with bamboo chick blinds made by local artisans, adding a touch of craftsmanship to the design.
